First off.....suicide watch for Andrew.

Second, it was time. Personally loved watching him in his prime and unlike many I enjoyed his short stint in a Suns uniform. He definitely was one of the few players in the league you actually wanted a sound bite from sometimes.

Four rings, 28,596 career points and future hall of famer. Good luck <insert nickname here>

I'm going to miss him but I have a feeling he won't be out of public consciousness for long.

So long The Diesel / Shaq Fu / The Big Daddy / Superman / The Big Agave / The Big Cactus / The Big Shaqtus / The Big Galactus / The Real Deal / Dr. Shaq / The Big Shamrock / The Big Leprechaun / Shaqovic / M.D.E. / Wilt Chamberneazy.

Loved him as part of the young Magic team, wondered why it took him so long to dominate like in 2000, was surprised when he kept his promise to win in Miami, thought him to be out of place in Phoenix and didn't care for his on-court actions afterwards.

Off court, Shaq has to be one of the funniest, most charismatic NBA players in history. I'm sure we'll continue to hear from/ about him in his life. Didn't he intend to become a cop? With Shaq on the show, I'd even watch highway patrol or whatever these shows are called. :)

'Sums it up well.

A lot better than LieiBirioin (to many "i" 's) James posted,
"What a career for Shaq Diesel!!" James wrote on Twitter. "The most dominating force to ever play the game."

Apparently, "The Franchise In His Own Mind" never heard of Wilt Chamberlain. When it comes to the dominating force, no one in the history of the NBA comes close to The Big Dipper. No one!

Wilt changed the concept of individual play (scoring and rebounding), just as Bill Russell changed the concept of team play and defense.

Will LBJ ever learn to think before he speaks, or acts? If he is becoming the spokesman of the NBA, he needs to be impeached.

Let the record show that his last good season was in Phoenix. For whatever that's worth. I'm pretty sure that, ten years from now, someone will have to remind me that O'Neal played for the Suns, and I'll say "No he didn't ... oh, yeah, that's right."

Second, it was time.
It was time two years ago. But I can't blame him too much for lingering around longer than he should have. If someone paid me a few million dollars to follow an NBA team around, wear sweats all day, and sit in the front row to watch them play, I'd jump on it too. Nice life.

I'm sure he's got the next gimmick lined up already. Shaq is kinda like the Ochocinco of the NBA....

First off, Shaq was awesome for the one full season that he played here. Steve Kerr made one mistake as Suns GM - namely, hiring Terry Porter, who I truly believe is the worst coach the NBA has seen in at least the past 20 years - but Shaq was a perfect fit for this team once Gentry took the helm. Unfortunately, we only got to see a couple straight 140-point games from the Suns before Amar'e's eye fell out, but that didn't change the fact that for one year, the Suns had the best center in the Western Conference.

I still think he gets a way too easy of a ride from the media and most fans for his off- court antics. He took thinly veiled swipes at Penny Hardaway for being more popular in Orlando, stepped up his jealousy-fueled vitriol with direct insults about Kobe, disrespected Pat Riley and the Heat organization after being traded to Phoenix, and may or may not have stole Steve Nash's TV show idea.
