I started to watch the Megalodon "documentary" last night but I was exhausted and could barely concentrate so I watched it from the start again tonight. When exactly did Discovery start airing fake documentaries?

It was bad enough when Animal Planet did that stupid Mermaid show and then did a sequel, but this Megalodon thing was ridiculous. Total fake "mockumentary" interviews and laughably bad pictures and CGI that was supposed to convince us they had actual evidence a Megalodon was alive and had sunk a boat off South Africa in April.

Now there are legit scientists who speculate about Megalodon and could it still exist, that's why I put the show on to begin with, but this was bad. I lasted 75 minutes into the show and then turned it off and started looking online and sure enough thread after thread about wtf, fake documentary on Shark Week when did that change happen.

Apparently they got great ratings but I'm actually quite annoyed.

All of those channels jumped the proverbial shark. TLC(The Learning Channel) was the first to fall. Then it was The History Channel, and now Discovery. They've devolved into what they're not supposed to be. They went from being informative, through provoking channels into silly reality channels. I mean, do we really need a bevy of moonshine, mountain men, swamp idiot, pawn shop or any other backwoods show done ad nauseum? Pawn Stars, as scripted and set up as it is, used to be funny and I enjoyed the history behind some of the items brought in but it's now out of control. It's this fall that is going to have me busting my service down to basic cable and utilizing Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon among other avenues.

TLC is the lowest of the low IMO.

How the hell did we get a newtwork called "The Learning Channel" and wind up with garbage like Long Island Medium, EXTREME cougar wives and Here comes Honey Boo Boo... Total joke.

Walmart is more highbrow than television these days.
