Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has long believed he will end up with the New York Giants during the 2025 NFL draft and that may still be the case, but circumstances have nonetheless changed.

Once thought to be a guarantee at No. 3 overall, Sanders is now considered a toss-up for the Giants.

Needing to address their quarterback room, Giants general manager Joe Schoen went out and re-signed Tommy DeVito before adding two veterans, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, into the mix on incentive-laden deals. Their contracts are specifically tuned to playing time.

Savy to the business side of football, Sanders understands those additions and recently shared his reaction to them.

"Whatever they want to do, I think it was a good move for them regardless," Sanders said on the 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders podcast.

Sanders was specifically asked about potentially teaming up with Winston, who also has a very confident, outgoing personality.

"Jameis is cool," Sanders said. "That's what I'm saying. Whatever QB room, whatever. I just hope it ain't everybody in there just too serious, serious. You know what I mean? Just have a good vibe. You know, friendly competition, it is what it is."

Wilson, Winston, and DeVito are all on short-term contracts, so the Giants have obvious work left to do at the position, but appear content with the current room. During his press conference at the NFL owners' meetings, Schoen expressed as much.

"We're in a position where we can take who we think is the best football player at that time," he said. "If it matches up, if the value is right, we can look at many positions and take a guy."

Could the Giants still select Sanders? Absolutely, but the odds are becoming increasingly less likely.
