TIMELINE ON FITZGERALD
When Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald hurt his hamstring Oct. 8, he was projected to miss two to five weeks. It now looks like it will be closer to five weeks than two.

Fitzgerald will not play Sunday against the Raiders, nor is he expected to play the following week at Green Bay. The week after is the Cardinals bye, which would give Arizona a chance to rest their standout wide receiver one more week. It all sets up a Fitzgerald return on Nov. 12 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Problem is, by then, Arizona could be eliminated from playoff contention.

If not having Fitz means we can't beat Oakland AND GB, then we don't deserve to make the playoffs.

I really got the impression when he said that he means we're holding him out because it's Oakland and Green Bay and we see no point risking Fitz?

Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I interpreted what he said.

There is no point in rushing back a guy with a hamstring injury.
Let him heal even if it takes an extra week or two.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

I agree with Jeff. If the Cards are talented enough to make the playoffs then they are talented enough to beat the Raiders and Packers without Fitz.

Hamstring on a wide out?

Err on the side of more time than less.

When he first hurt it, in my mind I kinda figured after the bye week anyway.

Playoffs? You guys serious? We need 9, most likely 10 wins to make the playoffs. That means going either 8-2 or 9-1 for the last game. I love my team, but that is unrealistic.

Unrealistic, I expect to win the rest of the games. We almost beat the Bears. Why can't we beat everone else?

Because if ya live in reality, 9 straight wins isn't an impossibility but it's not likely. I HOPE we win every game but I don't expect anything. And 'almost' is not a win. We 'almost' beat ALOT of teams over the last 6-7 years but we haven't. Until they prove they can win, they won't. It's pretty simple.
I do, however, admire your kool-aid abilities!...

My sentiments exactly! With Leinart in there, we have an entirely different identity. If our D continues to play as it has & our OL shows any improvement at all, we have a chance to beat anyone. This week's game against Oakland will tell us a lot. This team needs confidence. A couple of wins & watch out. 9 wins is definitely NOT out of the question.

Because you have to win on the road in the NFL to become a playoff team. No easy task historically for this team.

I can hope all I want, but I'm already looking forward to the off season.

Draft positioning, coaching uncertainies, FAs, speculation on the draft, the draft, mini camps, June 1 cuts, draft signings, camp start, hoping for a better season are the highlights for me. This yearly process only gives the Cardinals a few months out of the year to break my heart. This is why I endure...

Exactly...in all probability we probably won't see the real Fitz again 'til next year. He may come back but probably not at full speed. Those hammy's take forever....
