surprised this hasn't been brought up.

Both Carrol and the GM said they are listening to offers for Richard Sherman.

This is so out of left field. You never hear an organization say they are listening to trade offers usually it's deny deny deny.

Richard Sherman is a good player no doubt but he lacks the athletic ability to be considered in the same league as Peterson. Sherman is used to having safety help, one of the best safeties in the game, but he does remind me a lot of a poor man's Aeneas Williams actually and that is a high compliment

It was brought up in another thread.

If you read the quotes Carol and the GM say they listen to all offers. However 98% of them they turn down. This is much ado about nothing.

I think Sherman is over-rated to be honest, and feel that Earl Thomas is VASTLY underrated for the Seahawks. You can make a lot of mistakes when Earl Thomas is covering your butt.

Goes both ways. ET can shade to the other side more knowing Sherman can handle himself on his side.

Sherman was a pain in the butt for Seattle last year. Criticizing play calling in the press, going on rants and screaming at other players. Plus, he was not as good last season as the last. I think they want him out to get rid of his attitude.

We might be surprised by how little a team gives up to get Sherman.

I doubt Sherman goes anywhere. Seattle is making a last run at their own Super Bowl window here in the next 2 years, while Earl Thomas, Sherman, Chancellor, Graham etc head into their later years. I don't think they trade a big piece of that away right now. They have a roster that's built to win and they have no depth at CB2 behind Sherman. The last thing they need to make is a weakness they can't overcome.

True.

I guess it would be better said that I have seen other cornerbacks do what Sherman does, but very, very few that do what Earl Thomas does. But you are right, Sherman is a good cornerback, good enough to be left alone.

If you could say that, in many ways, Fitz is the face of the Cardinals, so too could you say the same thing about Sherman and Seattle.

I don't think he goes anywhere.

I would say Wilson is the face of the franchise

Or Carson Palmer or PP21 the face of ours.

Hair splitting (Teams often have more than one ""face"). The point here is that Sherman is very much a symbol of who the Seahawks are, and is unlikely to be going anyywhere.

I a lot of mock drafts I've seen I see the Seahags taking a cb in the first round. Could there be room for a first rounder and Sherman with how they have already? Yes I think so and the Seahags will trade to get a player not a draft pick.

Sherman stays...come on fellas think about it.

Totally disagree. You don't hear them (or any other team for that matter) publicly discuss all those offers for random players of which 98% never go anywhere - they are very publicly making it clear that he's available. It's either a) a message being sent to Sherman to ****, or b) that plus a serious intention to unload his unruly ass. I really think the answer is b, because he completely jumped the shark last year, and they've had enough. Plus he's got a fat contract on a team with cap issues.

This morning they're letting it be known that they want a good player and a high pick. He's as good as gone. I think he'll get traded right before the draft, or even on draft day. MARK IT!!

Not sure if it was mentioned, but a source close to Gambo said yesterday that Sherman is the one that actually initiated the trade request. Evidently he's pissed that they no longer like / approve of his behavior when it wasn't an issue earlier in his career.

Oh well! I won't miss the identity of the Legion of Boom in our division moving forward.

No way anyone gives up a starting player and a high draft pick for his one dimnsional pain in the ass....

#2 and #3 WRs in our division will breathe a huge sigh of relief if he's traded

He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Dude you cannot be yelling at the head coach on the sidelines because you disagree with something. That's crossing the line now your undermining your coach.
