I think strongly no. Those balls are already being hit so hard being hit of metal is amazing. It would be terrifing to be an infielder or a pitcher.

LOL - when I tuned into a game on radio for the first time, I kept hearing the announcers toast every ASU hit. "Plink!" they would bang their beer bottles together. "plink!" another hit. After 3 or 4 "plinks" I realized they wouldn't be drinking on radio (at least not that much!) Those dagnab aluminum bats!!

I'm not sure why a really hard hit ball would be that much scarier than big wooden splinters flying in all directions.
