Boston going with Burkett was dumb, Pedro makes $15 million a year, who cares if it was 3-days rest, now it's probably over and he pitched one game.

I don't see how your second guessing offers a better solution. Can you prove to me that a poorly rested Pedro is better than a well rested Burkett? Also, what does his salary have to do with anything?!?

This was like the dilemna Buck Showalter had in 99. We got to game 4 and instead of starting Johnson on that game we went with Brian Anderson. The logic is that you're going to have to pitch Anderson, or in this case Burkett this game or in the clincher.

Looks like the gamble worked for Boston - they won game 6, and will have Pedro for Game 7 on normal rest.

Gamble?

The Red Sox HAD to win two games to get to the Series... Didn't think a Burkett start (with all other hands outside Pedro available for duty) was "controversial"

Wakefield was there for Game 7, and with the way he's pitched, that's who I'd want out there.

That's why I said Pedro in Game 6.
