I just read his column on CBSsportsline and he basically things the Edge is not capable of running anywhere but in Indy. His column states he only gained the yards he did gain because other defenses were concentrating on Indy's passing game. (don't we have an outstanding passing game too?) He thinks we made a big mistake in signing him at the ripe old age of 28 especially at the money we paid him!

He just burst my bubble so help me out guys....do I disregard this jerk or take heed?

Warner, Boldin, Fitz

Does Prsco really believe that defenses wont be keying in our passing game as well? We were #1 in the NFL last year in passing. SO his point is basically pointless.

We had the #1 passing game out of necessity, we couldn't run. The only way to move the ball was to throw. Prisco makes a good point

I've noticed more than one writer talk down James's skills since signing. I doubt that would be the case if he signed with most other clubs.

James is a stud, and if we can give him some blocking, he will be fine. I'm not sure this signing won't make the o-line better. They have no excuses now. They have a quality back and it should be block or get cut.

Not really. Teams tried to defend the pass becaus ethey knew they didnt have to key on the run. yet we still managed to pass successfully. Do you honestly believe with our WR's and Warner that we will have trouble opening up the passing game? I sure dont.

The team has Fitz and Boldin, they are god like on the field.

However, the Cardinals being #1 in the league in passing last year is a phony stat. You cannot compare them to the Colts offense who have both a running and a passing offense. The Cardinals have proven over and over that they do not have the personel to support a running game.

I agree with Pete Prisco's point that that cardinals are team that still has defenders in their backfield on virtually every running play. James isn't going to change the blocking

Oh I agree the O-line needs to improve. However he is saying that he only gained his yards in Indy because teams had to key on the Colts passing game. Not because they had a good O-line. In fact many people believe that the Colts O-line just isnt that good.

We have a team that can pass with the best of them. That alone IMO will ensure that a guy like edge will be successful even if our line is mediocre. Instead of rushing for 1500+ though it will be 1100 which will still be a welcome sight in Cardinal land.

Amen - We noticed how good the Colts offensive line was during Pittsburgh game.. I believe even Peyton had a few good comments about them.

If he thinks that James can't run anywhere but Indy then the guys an idiot. Thats like saying Shaun Alexander can't run anywhere but Seattle. Edge brings so much to the table for us. Not only is he a great runner, but he is also a great receiver out of the backfield and is one of the better if not the best back at picking up the blitz and protecting his QB. He might be the best all around back in the NFL.

In 15 games last year he had 1,506 yards rushing and the year before that he had 1,548 yards. That was fourth best in the NFL in 2004 and 5th best in 2005. In receiving, if you take out the one year that he got hurt and and average out what he did in receptions and yardage for his career he catches an average of 55 receptions for 441 yards. His last four years he caught 44,51,51 and 61. He is still in his prime and should be a very good back for us for all four years that we have him signed to.

Prisco is an idiot! This signing absolutely makes us a better team right away. As mentioned already he is a stud, picking up blitzes alone he is better than we have had. He can catch and has great vision our offense is gonna be a threat to score everytime on the field. The media just don't want to give the cards credit until they win. When we start winning we will get the respect until then expect the same negative crap as always.

I don't really know whoi he is. But it's true we had the number 1 passing game in the NFL last year. The teams that played us knew ity and couldn't stop it even though we couldn't run to save our lives. EDGE brings the threat and the ability of a running game directly at the defense. How are they going to go up against fitz and Q , the tight end and Edge , where will thier focus be. Warner is a smart guy he will pick apart defenses and run when they least expect it.
