Sigh.
Right after the Cards won the NFC Championship, I called my parents (who conveniently live an hour south of Tampa) and told them to be prepared for a visit from me and some of my fellow Cardinals fans.
The next day, after the booze wore off and my dad called to ask me how many people to expect, I thought better of the situation. Didn't seem feasible to drive 30 hours. I could definitely find something great to do in AZ on Super Bowl Sunday. Besides, I couldn't take off from work, could I?
Well, fast forward to today. I will likely be informed of layoff in March. I am unsure of what I will do Super Bowl Sunday. I've driven long distances before with no problem. And I am pretty sure I can find a few wahoos to join me on my journey should I pursue it. Plus, my old VP (an Eagles fan) said I should go to Tampa even if I don't gp to the game.
So, should I go? On one hand, I think this is entirely foolish. I have no tickets to the game. I can have just as much fun here (maybe). I have bills to pay. And I would have to take at least one day off from work (likely two).
On the other hand, I only have to pay for gas (split a few ways). And I haven't seen my dad in over a year (not that I would see him that much over the weekend).
So, what do you think? Should I stay or should I go?
