Sigh.

Right after the Cards won the NFC Championship, I called my parents (who conveniently live an hour south of Tampa) and told them to be prepared for a visit from me and some of my fellow Cardinals fans. :)

The next day, after the booze wore off and my dad called to ask me how many people to expect, I thought better of the situation. Didn't seem feasible to drive 30 hours. I could definitely find something great to do in AZ on Super Bowl Sunday. Besides, I couldn't take off from work, could I?

Well, fast forward to today. I will likely be informed of layoff in March. I am unsure of what I will do Super Bowl Sunday. I've driven long distances before with no problem. And I am pretty sure I can find a few wahoos to join me on my journey should I pursue it. Plus, my old VP (an Eagles fan) said I should go to Tampa even if I don't gp to the game.

So, should I go? On one hand, I think this is entirely foolish. I have no tickets to the game. I can have just as much fun here (maybe). I have bills to pay. And I would have to take at least one day off from work (likely two).

On the other hand, I only have to pay for gas (split a few ways). And I haven't seen my dad in over a year (not that I would see him that much over the weekend).

So, what do you think? Should I stay or should I go?

I'd take the Amtrak rather than drive. Save the gas and milage on your car and you might even be able to get on an Auto train if you want to have your car with you.

Plus I think it would be a lot of fun traveling by train, especially if you get a sleeper car.

Go. Years down the road, you might look back and regret not going when you had the chance...a chance that you may not get again. Conversely, if you do go and join in the fun and festivities, it's not very likely that you will look back and regret that you went.

It's one of those experiences of a lifetime that you will be telling stories about for the rest of your life. And you never know, when you're there at the last minute, you might just luck into a really cheap ticket to the game that someone is desperate to unload because they couldn't sell it or for some reason can't go.

So, 25 years from now when a million people are lying about being there in Tampa the day the Cardinals won their first Super Bowl, you can say you were too and feel great knowing you are telling the truth.

Just do it...

<hmmmm...idea...'shall i walk/swim to Tampa'>
If English says you should go then I think you should listen....especially coming from him.

Edit: I just noticed you are posting in the PWI thread and made this thread around the same time. Is this an alcohol induced thread????

Like I told Donald, this is a "I DID THAT!" moment for you. I doubt you'd ever regret going, but you very well may regret NOT going.

Go, and party it up, girl!

Not sure how well you know the "wahoos" who would tag along JG? But I say GO, but fly or train it, don't drive...

Screw the plane ride Jersey..30 hours aint squat. Especially if you have a 3 to 4 person entorage. Would be a FUN road trip and gas would come out way cheaper than that splitting costs! DO IT!
