Should they be called the Phoenix, Glendale or Arizona Coyotes?

I'm ruling that out, in the sense that it'd be akin to calling the New Jersey Devils the East Rutherford Devils. People outside of Phoenix know where Phoenix is. The same can't be said for Glendale.

Arizona Coyotes, if I'm not mistaken, was proposed several years back and voted down.

Eh.. Go with Phoenix. If it ain't broke...

I've always felt if Phoenix got a MLS team, they should go with the FC Phoenix name.

Also, remember when the Cardinals were tossing name change ideas around, and one of the nickname possibilities was ARIZONA PHOENIX?

I would buy the apparel of any team named Arizona Phoenix just because it takes guts to name your team something like that.

I would say Arizona because there are like 20 different townships that would be filling the arena and calling them there team.

Lets call them the Glendale Jets.

Otherwise, the Phoenix Coyotes works fine.

Phoenix Coyotes, it sounds a lot better than the others. We arent the only team to have our arena in a different town that is close to the main namesake city.

Does anyone from Glendale mind the name Phoenix Coyotes? I hate the way "Arizona Coyotes" sounds so I would keep it the way it is. Though, I don't mind the idea of naming the team after the state, but there is no way the team could exist here without the city of Phoenix so I wouldn't want it named after Glendale alone.

IMO the city at the center of the metro area should be the name. One of the only exceptions in my mind is Minnesota, since the Twin Cities sort of prevents either one from being the namesake. For the Coyotes, though, definitely Phoenix.

And should we call the Dallas Cowboys the Irving Cowboys because they play in Irving, Texas. The New York Giants should be the Meadowlands Giants? The Tempe Cardinals?

Phoenix Coyotes because they play in metro Phoenix. Glendale wouldn't be anything without Phoenix.
