if the doctors say he can play and he can actually hold on to a damn ball HE SHOULD ABSOLUTLEY START!

The only thing that scares me is that if he finds out he cant go thats another week with Rattay not getting all the reps he should get.

i hope Rattay's getting the lionshare of the snaps and that if Warner feels good on Sunday he gives it a go. But either way, I think this game ends up a loss and Warner probably fumbles at least once during the game if he plays.

Either way... a lot of respect would go to Warner if he plays....

I would expect that to be the case, as Warner knows the offense well enough to start only getting backup reps in practice. Rattay, not so much.

Start?

If healthy enough to play, I'd hope he'd be used the same way he was with Matt (the no huddle). JMO.

It's lunacy. It's lunacy that he is even practicing this week. Warner should wait until after the bye week before even thinking about playing.

Why? If he cant hurt it any further and he can handle the pain why shouldnt he play?

Play Tim Rattay in the "normal" offense, and Kurt in the no-huddle offense.

IMO, Kurt didn't look totally comfortable in the limited time he was in against Carolina last week. He had looked totally relaxed and confident in the previous no-huddle offense. For that reason alone, I'd limit him to the no-huddle, and turn the reigns over to Tim R. to start.

No! Mat is already out for rest of the season, no need to put Warner out there so soon.

Are you basing that on the two passes he completed out of the two passes he attempted?

I'm contrasting the relaxed, confident, loose Kurt who destroyed good defenses like Balt. and Pitts. in the no-huddle offense by quickly finding opening receivers, quickly delivering the ball on target with a snap release versus the tense QB who held the ball, got sacked, fumbled, etcetera against Carolina in the "normal" offense.

I agree. If the doctors clear him and he feels he can play then he is our best chance. Rattay is likely to not even be here next year.

And also the tense QB who finished the St. Louis game after Matt was hurt. We didn't exactly see the offense racking up the points.

FWIW, I'm with the "use Warner in the no-huddle" contingent.

I admire his effort and willingness to do anything he can to help his team, but there's no way Kurt Warner should see the field on Sunday. The risk/reward ratio is all wrong:

Upside: Warner makes the difference by himself between winning and losing, and the Cardinals steal a road win.

Downside: The Cards OL whiffs just once, a Redskins rusher comes in untouched, and Warner's gone for the rest of the season after taking a direct hit on his bad elbow.

I think the Cards should try to win this one with defense, the running game, and just enough passing from Tim Rattay to keep the 'Skins D honest. And if that's not enough, going into the bye at 3-4 isn't the end of the world.

But if they lose Warner in the process, it could be. :stick:

None of us are in a position to say whether or not he should start.

If he can handle the ball without any problems he should start. If he can't, he shouldn't. But we, as fans, don't know what he physically can and cannot do.

Warner's starting or not starting, playing only in hurry-up or not playing at all, in my opinion, is not relevant in terms of how the season plays out.

He's damaged and will probably be knocked out for the season within the next few games. I don't buy that silly team claim that he can't injure it worse by playing. Argue it otherwise, if you wish, I'm ignoring it from now on. Sunk cost.

We can win tomorrow but probably won't. It's a team game. Everybody has injuries. If subs play well, we have a shot.

I believe that whatever decision(s) Whisenhunt makes about the QBs will be made for sound reasons. If they work, good. If not, too bad. That won't necessarily make them wrong.

By the end of the year, we'll know if Whisenhunt is our coach-of-the future.

You can no longer judge Whiz on this season.

I find thta most cardinal fans have not grasp the reality of what has taken place. The number of times that a team has lost their top 2 qb's for the season (as you say just a matter of time with Kurt) before mid season has to be in the low single digits. I cant think of it ever happening.
