With the red birds trying to "win now" do you think that it would be a good move to try and sign pace. I know he is old but he could be a short term fix at tackle.

Orlando is too old, injury prone, and expensive for it to be a solid upgrade. Gandy has been one of the best offensive lineman our team has seen in quite awhile. Tackle is the only position on the line that we can afford to neglect. We need a new center and right guard before we think about a new LT.

as much as i'd like to bring him in, i'd have to say no unless it's a very cheap, incentive-laden deal and that's not likely.

For veteran minimum as a mentor for our young OL and Back-up OT - in a heartbeat.

But he'll be looking for starting money somewhere.

It Depends (well, doesn't it always?)...

Cards either have lost (or are about to lose) Elton Brown (who despite being primarily a guard, was also listed as the #1 backup tackle on our depth chart).

This means that - if Gandy or Levi B were to go down next season, they'd be replaced either by Vallejo or Keith.

This may be better than OK if Russ G feels one or both is ready. But they're still unknowns at this point.

Most likely, Pace will want to be paid starters' money (and probably expect to start). He'd probably prove too rich for the Cardinals' blood. But if he were to accept the role of backup and mentor, he'd add a bit more stability to our O-line and would be a great pickup.

If.
