Sign Jeff Weaver

We could use another arm, sign Weaver for a one year deal and see how he does in the NL. We all have seen a few pitchers make the transition pretty well from the AL to NL and I think the guy has some decent stuff.

It could be worth a shot, depending on what happens now that he's been designated for assignment. However, he has been having such a terrible year that he probably wont do any better than Gonzalez or Nippert.

Seeing as the first half of the season is almost over, it won't cost us much to sign him and he would be auditioning for a contract for next season so his play should improve, if not we get rid of him after the season.

He does but the contract wouldn't be as bad and he would be playing for a contract next year so maybe that would light a fire under him.
