Look at the cast of clowns that played QB for us. I'm doing this from memory so please feel free to fill in the holes. Warner and Plummer are the only 2 QB's that are not clowns so they will be left off of the list. Well, here it goes(they are not in any order, just firing off some names):

Gary Hogeboom
Timm Rosenbach
Chris Chandler
Stan Gelbagh
Dave Kreig
Dave Brown
Kent Graham
Tom Tupa
Jim McMahon
Jay Schroeder
Steve Beuerlein(probably the best of this bunch)
Josh McClown(not a typo and can someone explain to me how this guy is still collecting a paycheck in the NFL)
Boomer Esiason
Jeff Blake
Matt Leinart
Max Hall
John Skelton
Ryan Lindley
John Navarro
Tim Rattay
Stoney Case
Tony Sacca
Shaun King

I know I'm missing some but how can it be that in 25 years a franchise can develop only 1 decent QB's in that time frame(Warner was already a talent when he came here)? Does any other team in a span of 25 years not be able to develop a good QB?

NJ, a valid point. To keep me going, I always tell myself that things can change. Look at last year, Peyton Manning almost fell into our lap, so you never know. Seattle is on the rise because Russel Wilson has turned out to be much better than expected. As we all know this year's draft doesn't seem to contain a franchise QB, but that could be wrong. Since we are desperate, we'll have to pay more then we should, but at least the team KNOWS we need a QB.

Kelly Stouffer
.

Stouffer never played here but your point is valid. He was a waste of a draft pick because he didn't sign here. The pick itself was odd considering we already had Lomax so the team wasted a #6 pick on a QB when there were more pressing needs like RB and defense.

There are 3 QBs on that list that won a Conference Championship. 2 former Cowboys backups. The Cards all time single game passing leader is on that list.
Boomer, Kreig, Leinart and Beuerlein are all in the top 10 of all time single game passing yards for the Cardinals. Hard to believe that Jake Plummer once threw for 465 yards in one game.

Chris Chandler QBd Atlanta to a SB and Beuerlein was the NFL's passing leader with 4,436 yards in 1999. He also threw for 36 TDs that season. Plummer won some in Denver. I believe they are the only former Arizona Cardinals QBs to have success elsewhere other than as a punter.

Since Moving to Phoenix the Cardinals have had 15 different QBs be their leading passer for a season and 15 different RBs be their leading rusher.

I liked Steve Beuerlein Buddy screwed him up. Plummer had a great year in 88. Of course Warner even though he played bad till he found his gloves we went to the SB. Lomax 7-4 and gone. Rosenbach might have been good ,except for the turf inside dome in Flagstaff. All th eothers were used up or never good enough to start as a NFL QB!

Thank you for writing this so I didn't have to.

Boomer Esiason was 4-time Pro Bowler and a freakin' NFL MVP before coming to the Cards. Krieg was a 3-time Pro Bowler before coming to the Cards. Beurlein was very solid and got MVP talk with the Panthers in 1999. Hogeboom, Kent Graham, Jay Schroeder, and Jeff Blake all had their best moments on other teams.

At some point you have to blame the team, not the QB. There's actually a lot of talent on this list. Kelly Stouffer proved to be pretty smart, even if he was awful.

Hence the point of my post. The Cards either screwed a QB up or got him way past his prime. Chandler had one good year in his career. He was the poor man's Steve DeBerg. Chandler was so good he played for 7 different teams.

Chandler was the unluckiest QB in history. Look at the teams at the time he played for them.

Tampa 5-11 and 5-11 the two seasons before he went there. Phoenix 5-11 and 4-12. The Rams 6-10 and 5-11. The Oilers were 2-14 the year before Chandler arrived. Atlanta was 3-13.

One might say that the list of running backs is worse...

All I ask for is an elite QB or RB. It doesn't have to be both.

But an OL will make a lot of issues go away.

Oh, we had good quality RB's here. It's just that they ended up being good quality RB's for another team. (as I look up the names Garrison Hearst and Thomas Jones)

Wow it's been 10 years since Thomas Jones left. Where does the time go.

Jones rushed for more yards and as many TDs just in 2005 for the Bears as he did in 3 seasons in Arizona. Stupid David Boston.
