As part of our efforts to give the community a better home, we've upgraded the forum software. Along with better security, and some bugs fixes (like the new post problem), the new version offer:

1. Ways to customize your profile page.
2. Private album, to share your photos
3. Social groups
4. Tagging for easier forum search
5. New spam capabilities.

More features are on the way

This upgrade should go smoothly. But, if you still encounter a problem, please report it using this link:
http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/sendmessage.php

We wish to thank you for making Arizona Sports Fans Network, the best place for us sports lovers. We are making efforts to give you the user experience you deserve!

Yair - tech team.

PS
Email issues should have been completely solved. If you still find yourself having these problems, please report using this link:

Still problems.... keep getting "No page specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" error messages.

Well, notify administrator then. What I want are permanent personalized font and color selections.

So who do we want to Spam? Robert Sarver? Eric Byrnes?

But the opening of a PM just worked beautifully (although still not getting email notifications, but that's really minor to me).

I'm trying to fiddle with the new customize-able personal options stuff, but not seeing that it took effect (or that I quite understand it, perhaps) -- I only tried a couple little things with color and font since (as UncleChris can attest from another board) when I really get into color schemes and so on, I can vanish into it for days on end. Font Junkie. :D

The forum jump was fixed about midnight tonight. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think the social groups thing is kinda cool. I just can't see any way to tell if something has been posted in the group. Am I missing something? It's not in my forum list, and I don't get a pop up like a pm when something is posted. Is there any way to add your personal social group to the forum list?

I kinda like the social groups too. Is there a way of making them a link from the homepage anywhere? I like in the UserCP/Blogs/Member List section.

It would be really cool if you could customize what you see in this section.

If everyone else can see a social group, what's the point of them? We already are sort of a self-organized large social group. Also seems like it could get pretty awkward at times if people can see who belongs and who doesn't, little noses pressed wistfully against the plate glass window. You can't freely backstab if everything is public, either. Or is that where 'friends and networks' come in? Or not?

Now, if they were like a non-visible private forum, that might make more sense -- a lot of sense, even. They could organize around specific interests -- Obama folks could discuss things in depth without having bothersome trollish interference; baseball stat-heads could set up their little clubhouse without some old-school idiot insisting on discussing intangibles or clutch performance (Oh, wait... that would be me.) -- and so on.

Maybe we need a few very basic tutorials on how some of the new toys work -- like the profile editing of fonts and colors, social groups, 'friends and networks,' and other new stuff.

I did some research on the social groups. At this time, there is no way of hiding the members of a social group.

That seems odd then -- what's the point of them? Sounds potentially rather adolescent and clique-ish.

Yep. We deleted the one I made. Funnily enough (unless you saw it) I called it "the clique" since that's what we've been accused of more than once. I named it tongue-in-cheek, not realizing it was sorta viewable by the public.

Either we're too old -- er, mature -- for this social group stuff, Linder, or we're missing something, I guess. We're all pretty well self-policing around here, along with the eagle-eyed mods trolling...patrolling for outliers, so it seems a little redundant to have social groups. Again, I can see it work more as sort of private interest-based miniforums, but not so much if it's visible to all. That just seems weird -- exhibitionist, cliquish, whatever.

btw, has stuff been loading sluggishly for anyone else over the last maybe 24 hours? It had seemed really fast for a while there.
