PHILADELPHIA -- It had been tough sledding for Philadelphia 76ers guard Marcus Bagley since being called up from the G League. After shooting 32% from deep for the Delaware Blue Coats, he couldn't buy a 3 with the Sixers.

He was shooting 1-for-21 from deep in his first eight games before finally seeing the ball go through in Friday's 124-110 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Bagley had 20 points while shooting 4-for-8 from deep as the Arizona State product finally saw the fruits of his labor.

"It feels good," Bagley said. "I finally made some shots tonight. I’m just grateful for the opportunity, obviously. It’s a dream come true to be out here, no matter what stats I have, just to be out there playing is a dream come true. So, I’m just grateful for the opportunity."

Entering the league undrafted, Bagley was working hard in order to receive this opportunity in the NBA so the constant growth is something he is looking forward to on a regular basis. It is certainly a bit different at the NBA level than it is in the G League.

"The difference from the G is it’s more mental," he explained. "The guys are a lot bigger, a lot more physical, so that’s a big focus going into the offseason, to get my body ready to play 82 games and the playoffs. So, that’s a focus and obviously just continuing to develop my outside shot and just taking whatever feedback I can get from the coaches and going into the offseason and working on that."

When considering the fact that Bagley and other Sixers on this roster are fighting for their NBA futures, it would make sense to see them maybe play a little more isolation basketball and try to get theirs. However, that hasn't been the case at all. They have been playing within themselves and are playing for the betterment of the team. That shows high IQ which will help them in the future.

"I think we just got a lot of smart players," Bagley finished. "I think for me, I take pride on playing the right way no matter what the situation is, because I think habits—you can develop good habits or you can develop bad habits. So I try to play the right brand of basketball every time I step out there and yeah. I just think we got a good team of real high IQ basketball players."

Bagley and the Sixers will host the Chicago Bulls on Sunday in the season finale.
