Should of never traded Bauer and Skaggs. So many people here bought what Towers was saying about Bauer. The guy is going to win many games and don't get me started on Skaggs. I get so pissed that Towers screwed this organization with terrible trades and signings. He bashed Upton, Bauer and Eaton and people bought it and thought he did the correct thing in getting rid of them. I can't wait until that buffoon is gone.

Skaggs maybe. Bauer isn't worth the headache and Kennedy would not have the same ERA if he was still here. Could we or should we have gotten more? Maybe but he wasn't gonna be good here.

don't think for a moment La Russa isn't privy to that either. we had a bright future with a stout farm. now we have no future with a pathetic farm system.

I don't think Bauer is the headache Towers made everyone believe. Towers has no patience and he got taken so many times. It's like if he doesn't like you, you're gone. I hope LaRussa does the same to Towers.

Btw, Upton hit his 12th homer tonight, Bauer beat the hottest team in baseball and Skaggs is going to win, giving up only one run in seven innings so far. Just look at all the trades in the past few years and see what Towers got overall and what he gave up.

Kennedy is pitching pretty well this season. Even if he's never what he was during that crazy year, he's a solid #3 on most rosters. Towers basically gave him away for peanuts because he didn't like him.

Don't get me started on Skaggs.

The Skaggs trade was horrible, but to say we got peanuts for Kennedy is laughable. We got a prospect who happens to be our #8 project in our system right now in Matt Stites and a solid Left Handed RP in Joe Thatcher. Aside from one bad outing this year, Tatcher has been the best lefty out of our bullpen and only other solid RP beside Ziegler. BTW, I would not be surprised to see Stites closing games for us this year. Since getting promoted to Reno, he has not given up a run in 5 outings and save 2 games.

Not too mention the fact that Kennedy was horrible for us his last year, and NO ONE was sad to see him go.

Criticize the Skaggs trade (although that was the price to get power), but to criticize the Kennedy trade just shows blind hatred of Towers that is not based in reality.

Its peanuts. Being #8 in our devoid system is hardly a bragging point. And Joe Thatcher is a lefty specialist... you dont trade a starter for a dime a dozen left specialist. He has allowed 20 baserunners in 13 innings of work, his ERA looks more like a product of luck than skill given his other stats. Last season he got slaughtered for us.

That should never be the price to get THAT kind of a power hitter. Trumbo IS Mark Reynolds, you dont give up potential aces and starting quality outfielders (who can also hit leadoff) for a guy that can hit 30 home runs while striking out 180 times with an OBP under .300. Oh, and Trumbo is also a disaster in the outfield. There is absolutely no way to examine the Trumbo trade without seeing its complete embarrassment.

Also, no hatred of Towers is blind.

One would think the results of the team on the field, as well as the performance of the individual components of these trades, would show who was "blind" regarding Tower's reign as DBacks GM. To try and justify even now should be embarrassing, but seems to be happening anyways.

KT needs to go.. And he will. People are building up the Kennedy deal simply to validate their points... Yet, virtually every other KT deal has failed...
That said, I firmly believe Gibby had a lot to do with many of these deals - particularly the Upton deal. I posted an article not too long from a writer that all but confirmed Gibby's role in that deal and the Eaton & Bauer deals...
Bottom line, KT pulled the trigger and his head should roll... I have no doubt that he will be gone - soon...

It kills me to think about this stuff.

Skaggs, Bauer, Bradley... all under the age of 24, all with enormous potential and electric stuff. Bauer was hitting 99 on the gun last night, his walk rate is waaaaaaay down, but we gave up on him before his 22nd birthday.

Two of those 3 are gone, and we have basically nothing to show of it. A one dimensional slugger with no position on this team and a AAA defensive short stop.

We also threw Eaton, Shaw and Albers into those trade. Three legit major league players.

We had the kind of pitching potential that could set up a team for a decade, and Towers just gave it away.

Like I just said, it seems pretty clear from many reports that Bauer and Eaton were moved as a result of Gibby not wanting their presence on the team. Course, KT could've made a different choice and not bowed to Gibby... But he didn't and as a result, his head will roll...

Even if you decide they're not a fit, you have got to extract value from those guys. The lack of professionalism by this team when they've gotten in their head that they want to move a guy is appalling. They drag these players through the mud, do something as asinine as demote Skaggs from the bigs to single A last year, bad mouth Bauer publicly, destroy their value and then get pennies on their dollar for their worth. And not only because KT and others have defamed them publicly but because KT also has his idiotic policy of telling everyone exactly what he is looking before executing trades, backing himself into a corner.

IMO that is the biggest reason why KT keeps getting absolutely butchered in trades, the best teams talk up their own guys and keep their plans as tight lipped as possible, KT does the exact opposite.
