I was in the Dr's office waiting room and picked up a Sports Illustrated from late June this year. It had a "Where are they now?" section.
One of the articles was on the Hanson brothers from "Slap Shot". This was such a great movie, but some things I didn't realize:
1) The Hanson brothers actors were real minor league hockey players (a couple of them had stints in the NHL)
2) The screenplay for Slap Shot was written by a woman who had a brother playing minor league hockey. This is such a "guy" movie that I was surprised.
3) 2 of the actors had the last name of "Carlson", and the third really had the last name of "Hanson".
4) One of the Carlson brothers, Jack, was a player for the Minnesota North Stars that I liked to watch when I was a kid. He was just a fighter and enforcer and always had more PIM than games played. He was originally supposed to be the third of the brothers, but he got called up to play pro when the movie was cast.
