Ok I have my screen saver set for 3 minutes. It comes on and if Im away from my computer for about 10 minutes or longer I come back and my computer is in some sort of sleep mode. The monitor is blank and the power light on my computer is blinking. I move the mouse and it kciks back on.

Anyone know why it does this? Any other computer I ever had would stay on screen saver for days not go into some sort of sleep mode. Is there anyway to change it? If so is it simple enough instruction so a computer idiot like me can do it?

Go to your desktop.

Right click.

Select Properties.

Select Screen Saver.

Select Power.

From there you select your time to Sleep, Hibernate, etc.

I have my selections on Never, except for the monitor, which turns off after 3 hrs.

I would guess this is a laptop right?

All laptops seem to have that power save stuff set like that, so your laptop goes to sleep if it's been idle for too long.

Many times this happens when you are just on battery power too.

There are multiple power settings for laptops. One for AC power and one for battery power.

This is also done on PC's as an energy saving feature.

I hate this feature on desktop PC's, typically comes default to on... So many times I elbow it to get it to wake up, and nothing... Good feature for notebooks and laptops, bad feature for desktops..

hybernate on laptops is good though.

Sucks for wireless though, everytime my laptop sleeps, and then gets turned back on...the wireless doesn't work. I have to reboot.

Hmmm... mine works fine. Do you let windows control wireless or is it a manufacturer based software program? Also, do you have latest drivers?
