Not just teams but players that don't get national press but are really good.

I mentioned Stephen Curry of Davidson, son of Dell Curry. I said in the preseason he would be the best guard UCLA saw all year and I still think that despite seeing Mayo, Bayless and Harden all this year all of whom I think will be good NBA players. In fact all will be better NBA players than Curry because he's a tweener but in college he's better. More polished than Bayless, better shooter than Harden or Mayo. Excellent on defense too and battle tested they played UNC, Duke and UCLA this year in OOC and he was swarmed in all 3 games.

Another kid is Lee Cummard of BYU, classic older Mormon kid. I'm familiar with him because UCLA heavily recruited him, in fact one West Coast scout was ridiculed that year for ranking Cummard ahead of Afflalo, this year he put up 16 PPG, 3.5 APG, 6.4 RPG and shot 46% from 3. he's from Arizona too.

Vandy has 2 kids although I guess Foster got well known last year, Shan Foster just a terrific deep shooter. The other kid is AJ Ogilvy the freshman C from Sydney Australia. He was all over tv there when we were there, you'd turn on any sports show and they were talking about him, really good player.

The Curry pick looks even better 30 in the upset of Georgetown, he's scored 55 in the 2nd half of the 2 games combined.

He looks like his mom. Unfair. Father is Dell Curry, super athlete. Wrong side of the gene pool.:D

Yeah I remember him from WVU beating UCLA last year he was the best athlete on the floor.

He likes to talk but as I always say if you can back it up so what. He's a really nice prospect. Much as I dislike Huggins I have to admit he's a good coach he's got them playing really good man to man defense which is amazing since most of those kids were recruited and used to playing in the 1-3-1 zone of Beilein. They played some man but not nearly as much as they do under Huggins.

That's true Russ. The thing that has boggled my mind this year is how well Huggins has them rebounding. They are a relativly small team and constantly got beat ont he boards last year. They face a tough matchup in Xavier who is a bigger team. Hope they can keep rolling.

Alexander is a talker. I didnt really like what he or Huggins said about Duke or Coach K, but since it was Duke, I didnt mind THAT much :D

Part of why they rebound better is they play man IMHO. It's harder to rebound from a zone because blockout assignments are less obvious. Man you block out your man, zone, harder.

I don't like Huggins at all but the man can coach.

Curry said yesterday he's coming back to Davidson. We'll see but that'd be great if he really does.
