This means one of 2 things. Either Kerr is inept at negotiating or Sarver was only looking for cash and it never occurred to him to ask for more.

Portland is paying the maximum 3M$ for both picks... they paid 3M$ for the Rodriguez pick as well..

How much did the the Sixers get? 3 MILLION..... AND THE #42 PICK....

As I said in the other thread, that pick turned out to be Derrick Byars, a player we actually worked out and should have gone much sooner. But because he went in the second round, the Suns would have been in no obligation to sign him. And even if they did sign him, that could be a minimum rookie scale contract. With only 10 players under contract + Tucker, we need to sign at least 2 more players anyway.

IMHO, the best case scenerio would be if there was a followup deal with Portland. In another thread there were rumors that Jones would go to the Blazers. I think is is inevitable that they would get something back.

From a roster standpoing, the Blazers already have a lot of contract guys:

Jack
Rodriguez
Francis
La Frentz
Miles
Przbella
Aldridge
Webster
Roy
Frye
Outlaw

New Draft Picks:

Oden
Fernadez (stay in Europe)
Koponen
Taurean Green
McRoberts
Bryars
Nichols

That is 16 guys even if Fernadez and Kiponen stay in Europe.

If they keep Francis, this will create an enormous backlog of PG's:

God I hope you are right, if the Suns moved Jr and a pick for cash, its horrendous. If they got back Jack or Koponen, I'd be very happy. Well, only if they actually brought Koponen over this year.

I'm just going to stick my head in the mud and tell myself the Suns moved Banks+24 to Portland for Koponen.
