Our greatest needs were depth at the pg position and frontline help.
Zarko provides depth and versatility along the front line. Most importantly, he has been hand picked to mesh with Marion and Amare. Maybe now, with Zarko lurking out in 3 pt land, Shawn will return to the slashing, mid-range jump shooter that we all know and love (as well as being in better position for the OR's).
It is clear that the Suns braintrust sees a frontline of Zarko, Amare, and Marion as a common lineup this year.
Barbosa is a bonus. An athletic, young scoring pg, who is big enough to defend the 2. He is known as an ultra agressive defender. While I would love the comparisons to Gary Payton to pan out, I would be thrilled to see him be a Bobby Jackson (or Doug Christy) type.
Maybe some of that aggressiveness will rub off on Joe Johnson.
The conditions on the first round pick we gave up are absolutely absurd (top 25 protected for 5 years?). I am quite sure we will find away to pay that off quite painlessly.
