I didn't see the game but Lampe looked like he played very well. How did he score most of his points? Did he look agressive? How did his defence look? I take it this will mean he will start getting more minutes :)

I was very impressed by his play last night. I think that we should start him before the season is over.

I was at the game last night and Lampe played really well. I do not get why they they haven't played him more to this point. He hit some outside shots made nice passes and ran the fast break well. For the last 15 games they should start him. They have nothing to lose at this point. If he falls flat on his face, he will at least have some playing experience

Not only that, he showed some nice post up moves and made a fadeaway jumper or two. I do think he will be starting by the end of the season.

I wish he had had more time to play then he'll get. I wish they had started earlier or at least had gotten some playing time...

Why not? Everyone else has. :D

I listened to part of the game on the radio, so I did not get a chance to determine how the Bucks responded to his play nor did I see how he played on defense.

If Lampe proves to be a serious threat from the foul line, he could force opponents to pull out their center to stop him - ending the double teaming of Amare. Considering how often teams of trying to double Stoudemire, this is an obvious alternative to the small ball that looked so bad in the Timberwolves game.

I didn't think Lampe's defense was as good last night as some other times but I'll say one thing for him, he'll try to guard anyone. He switched onto Redd at one point and held him to putting up a somewhat contested shot near the arc. Kukoc beat him on the baseline handily once but the refs allowed Tony three changes of his pivot foot - sort of a running start.

Most of his failings on defense have to do with the team aspect of the game - for instance he switches far too easily which probably comes from not caring who he's guarding. His recognition of when to cut off someone heading into the lane is not there yet either - he's more inclined to reach than move. He does better cutting off the baseline, but that's a simpler move. What this means is that he has a good deal to learn but he definitely looks like he wants to defend well so I'd expect him to learn what he needs to do.

One more thing about Lampe's performance the other night. He was clearly hacked on his shots several times down the stretch, but the referees did not make the call. I think they may have been just trying to end the game.

He still looks lost a lot of times on defense, but his defense is still a lot better than what I expected. He is certainly fearless. I thought he did a very good job against Michael Redd on that play that Ernknight referred to in the previous post.

I watched the game. Lampe was scoring points. 17? I dont know why they were using him as PF though. Everytime I looked up he had more points, must be silky smooth. I remember Eddie johnson laughing @ Joe Smith looking at Lmape wondering how he scored on him.. Joe's face had the classic WHAT! look. :( :x :? <<Joe Smith had all these faces in a matter of 10 seconds.. Ha Ha

I think I know the answer to this, but who would you rather have? Lampe or Tzalkilitiz(big Jake)?

This came up a few weeks ago before he played some serious minutes. In Europe he was playing some SF since he was athletic enough to play outside.

Big Jake was/is strictly a banger - a taller but less mobile version of Jahidi. The comparison never made any sense except as a joke.

I would rather have Lampe although I think it's hard to compare the two of them. Big Jake is a center all the way. Most of us want Lampe to be a center, but I'm not sure that is really his position. He's probably a couple inches shorter than big Jake and be few pounds lighter as well. If he can bulk up a little this summer that will really help him that all other centers defensively. I would rather have Lampe because of his offense, but defensively I would take Big Jake.

BTW you took my comment out of context.

I thought Big Jake was making progress before his back surgury, but he was still easily exploited by quicker centers (think Ostertag). Last summer he was supposed to be in the best condition of his career, but he had only a mediocre performance at the Rocky Mountain Review against rookies and backup guys.

I complain that White is too slow, but he is quicker than Jake. The Suns defense relies heavily on switches so being quick on the backside rotation is an absolute must. Jake couldn't do it. I'm not sure White will ever be quick enough to be a significant minutes guy either, but Jake was worse.
