Where the hell did that come from? Why would it stop that big dude, and more importantly who put that in the script?

The best part about that is right after Superman threw it, he had a great reaction because the reaction was filmed when they told him the plans for the scene, not during shooting of the scene. If they had played the scene a few seconds more, Christopher Reeves could be heard saying, "you are all on @!%@@&$ drugs."

It's far superior to the theatrical release in many ways.

I agree!!

However, some of the scenes (that made more sense) that they put together were not touched up as they appear they were never intended for release. So there are some wacky cuts that go from decent special effects to 10 grade special effects.

It still got rid of the corny-ness about 10 fold, I enjoyed it.... but I still like Superman II over all
