Goodbye, Calvin Pace. Boy, it sure would be nice to have a young, up-and-coming player at an impact defensive position that we can count on to contribute more and more as time progresses. Ah, what the heck? We'll just let our WR take up 1/6 of our cap space and be done with it. Who needs ya, Calvin? I should say, who needed you because, most likely, any discussion involving you and the Cardinals will probably need to be in the past tense. Thanks, Rod Graves, for once again ineptly avoiding any kind of competence. Thanks, Fitz, for helping to run a valuable part of your team and a fellow Cardinal out of town. Thank you, Cardinals, for taking a season of hope and absolutely screwing the pooch afterwards. Is this 1999 or 2008? Sure, a deal will probably get done on Sunday or something, when Pace is already suiting up as a Niner, ready to wreak havoc on us for the next 5 years.

Whew, that felt so good to get out right away! :D There ya go, guys. I couldn't disappoint. ;)

Ther is only one person to blame and that is our GM, plain and simple. These restructurings (Fitz) and new contracts (Dansby and Pace) should have occured before free agency occurred, which was the regular season. Our GM tried to meet and hammer deals with Pace and Dansby but never happened. He tried to restructure Fitz contract in the last month but couldn't get it done. Didn't our GM think that it was possible for Fitz to attain his goals to esculate the incentives to make him a 17.5 a year player? I recall The Dansby/Pace negotiations taking place before Larry's possible incentive based contract and extension. Am I wrong? Blame our GM for our sudden turmoil!!!

Ah... life as a Cardinals fan. Why do we kid ourselves? Why even bother being optimistic every offseason?

Crap, I'm in a dark mood. This sucks.

That reminded me that the 2003 draft class will be entering their 6th NFL season. Calvin will be 28 in October. Time goes by fast.

Right?

See ya Pace! Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya!

Breaking the bank on Mr. I feel out the window Pace? WITH Berry and Okeafor still on the team?

See ya! You will be easily replaced at a reduced price!

Cause of course, if Pace was a REAL team player he would sign a contract with us for less money.....it is for the good of our team! :D

Let's see that will cost us about $20 million

Why should he, It's seems punk ass #11 won't, and he's the Cards leader.
It's being reported that Miami is interested in KVB2. Wow, Bill Parcels knows nothing about stud defensive players.

The Cardinals are NOT lowballing Fitzgerald. So the comparisson is moot.

I feel your pain guys. But I must admit, I never new Graves had so many family members on this board. That has to expalin why so many defend his inept actions.

Just watch, Graves will resign Fitz for the largest contract in the history of the world (with more poorly thought out incentives) after all the decent FA help have signed elsewhere and entire horde of Graves family members will shout to the world what a freakin' good business man he is. They will tell us that we should never have lost hope in his highness and that we are in denial of his genius.

Having this guy as our gm SUCKS!! And it alway will.

That's right. Let's pin our pass rush hopes on two broken down senior citizens. Good call.

If you people are countin on Berry and Chicke then you will be sad when neither one makes it through a full season. I did hear though that as a special presentaion Berry and Chicke will come to midfield at halftime of the first home game and be presented their AARP cards....So at least we can look forward to that.

Show of hands how many of us actually thought Calvin Pace would be worth the money he's going to get paid at the start of the season?

Yeah.. My point exactly..

A pointless point, eh? The beginning of the season meant nothing...what happened during the season is all that matters. That isn't hard to understand.

Agreed.

So Pace has been here at AZ for 5 years.

1 out of the five years he played solid (not great, not all pro, solid)

So we have a 20% chance the guy is going to play solid next year based on what has happened during the season when Calvin Pace has been a Cardinal.

I guess 20% is enough to prove that huge 14 million contract.

It is not enough proof for me but what do I know.

Then go be a Dolphins fan if you believe in the Tuna that much. What can I say ?

If Chike Okeafor and Bertrand Berry are so terrible, and Pace is soooo good.

Then why don't we cut Okeafor and give that money to Pace ?

Jumping on the "Fitz is a overrated, and greedy cancer bandwagon" for all the Cardinals problems is ridiculous.

What ?

Pace is getting low balled?

I think Pace is getting WAY overpaid, and over hyped for one solid season of play.

The Patriots have been doing it for years.

As I stated above if Berry and Okeafor are so bad then why not talk about releasing one of them to pay for Pace ?

Let's get rid of the best young WR in the game for nothing, just because we don't have the patience for the new deal to get done. Good call.

This is not quantum physics, why are you having such a hard time comprehending this??????????????????

Pace is a natural 3-4 OLB. That is the best place for a speedy 260+lb guy. Stupid Cardinal managrement drafted him into the wrong scheme and played him there for 4 years. Why do you blame this on him? I guess if we changed A-Dub's position to DT this year and he got steamrolled you would say that he sucks too?

The funniest part is that we finally find Pace's position and he plays it GREAT. (Yes, 100 tackles and 6.5 sacks is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Yet there are haters here who expect him to regress. At the same time, Rolle has done nothing but suck at CB, but many of the same people consider it a given that he will be a pro bowler at FS.

Gotta love it.

I'm not saying PACE is getting lowballed. He hasn't gotten his offer yet.

Fitz is the one your comparing to Pace in how the Cards are dealing with HIM.

And yes they all are gonna get WAY overpaid if they perservere in this league.

Wild, do you work for Parker or the Cardinals? There's no possible way that you can know where the Cards are right now. You've only heard one side of the story, and that is the Arizona Cardinals'. If you want to believe them, that's fine, but it's not a fact that the Cards are offering Larry Fitzgerald market value or anything else, because what you have is a bunch of debateable semi-true numbers that no one wants attributed to them.

I'm not blaming Graves right now; I'm not blaming Fitz. But to state as fact that the Cards are offering a fair deal to Fitz? Unless your Graves, Parker, Fitz, or a Bidwill, you have no idea.
