I really though Sura would stay with Atlanta. He's had a chance to play with a good team (Pistons) and didn't do much. Only the Hawks were bad enough to give him the playing time he needed.

The Hawk's PG situation is beginning to look pretty grim. They traded away Terry and most of the major FA point guards are off the board:

Nash - Suns
Crawford - Knicks
Alston - Raptors
Brent Barry - Spurs
Mike Jampe - Bucks
Arroyo - Jazz (re-signed)
Fisher - Warriors
Marquis Danials - Mavs (re-signed)
Jason Hart - Bobcats
Ward - Rockets
Dooling - Heat

There have been a number PG's traded this summer as well: Snow to the Cavs (Olie to Sixers), Van Exel to the Blazers, Payton to the Celtics (Atkins and Banks to Lakers) come to mind.

Troy Hudson is the only starting quality PG left on the board. It's been a difficult negotiation, but he is expected to re-sign. After that, it is guys like Strickland, Bimbo Coles, Kenny Anderson, Brevin Knight etc. who haven't been effective in years. Brevin Knight may actually get a job somewhere.

How about Jason Collier and garbage for Eisley?

I guess nobody needs a PG that bad.

nobody needs a below average point guard with $13 million in salary to be paid over the next two seasons.

Hawks really could use him.

Even though they could use him, it seems hard to believe the Hawks would take Eisley's entire contract without a major inducement. They definitely won't include Collier since the don't have another center either.

This is actually a place where including Vujanic might actually help, because the Hawks have the cap space to complete Milo's buyout this season if they wanted.

Milos would be a good fit with the Hawks... he'd get some playing time there.

I think the Suns are doing the right thing by trying to buy out Eisley's contract. They'd be better off with an extra $1m in cap space this year than they would after any trade in which Eisley is moved.

The other option is to hold on to him until next year (when his contract is actually worth something), but I don't think even the Sarver Suns can afford to add another $7m player to the mix, not with Joe Johnson and Amare coming up for big extensions.

Are there reports that they are, or are you just speculating? I haven't heard anything about this.

I have seen it at least once, and my impression is that the source was semi-official (the Republic, perhaps?). I can't remember the specifics, though.

Maybe it was just Gambo, in which case there's probably nothing to it. :(
