A NCAA Tournament round that eluded the program for years, the Alabama Crimson Tide are now back in the Elite Eight for the second consecutive season.
After making a Final Four last season, Alabama will now play for a chance to return there with a win Saturday, as the Crimson Tide have advanced to the Elite Eight following a dominant and record-breaking 113-88 victory Thursday night over the BYU Cougars.
An impressive showing from the Crimson Tide, Alabama was led by a stellar performance from guard Mark Sears, who finished with a combined 34 points on 10-of-16 shooting from three-point range. Alabama also impressed overall from three-point range as a team Thursday night, shooting a combined 25-of-51 (49%) to set a NCAA Tournament record for the most made three-pointers in a game.
