I would say that Sofoklis looks pretty good and the Suns shouldn't pass on him if he is there.
He looks pretty athletic, wide with good soft hands and from most scouting reports he has a decent shot.

James Lang doesn't look bad either although his conditioning might be a question. Of course I don't know how long other players could do that drill.

i was pretty happy to hear that he did indeed measure at 6'10. Only thing that bothers me is his weight. I thi nk he is around 320 pounds right now, which is huge. I heard one report claim that it was almost all muscle (that is a lot of muscle!) although I am not sure I can believe it. Even if he was pretty much all muscle I would be worried about him loosing his conditioning in the offseason one year and turning out to be another Big O.

Sofoklis doesn't really look fat in those clips.

Lang doesn't really look fat either and even if he does he looks pretty athletic and I wouldn't mind Lang as a center prospect. He makes up for his heigth with his huge wingspan and wide body.

Eddy Curry was a litte overweight too when he came into the league wasn't he?

Should Sofoklis fall to the Suns I think it would be a no-brainer.

Just from seeing the video (which is the 1st time I've seen him in action), I wasn't overly impressed. I thought this guy was built like a brick s*ithouse (according to NBADraft.net)... he was far from it.

Yeah, he had some tone to his upper body. But, his lower body looked soft. And, he even had trouble getting to the rim.

Maybe I'm wrong. But, I was definitely disappointed in my first look of him.

I also thought James Lang looked more athletic than Sofoklis. I believe the Suns are having the Greek in for a workout this week.

That video didn't impress me at all. It looked like he struggles to get above the rim even from a running start.

I think the test was to do that certain exercise 10 times as fast as possible. To get it, you want to just barely touch the rim each time. He did the whole thing much better, i.e. more smooth and appearing effortless, than Lang did. Lang is fat as can be attested by his exerting a lot effort just to pick up the balls from the floor. To get drafted, he must have made himself in best shape already for this task. So, I'd not touch him in the draft. On the other hand, Sofo did OK there. We need harder tests to know his true value. (Is there any reason that the Heat didn't provide video clips on those harder tests?)
