I think they are making progress. This afternoon you could grab 8 of the $50 tickets together at row 15. Now the most you can get together are 3 in row 20 section 402. They will get this on TV.

What did the pool supply folks do?

They'll (as in sponsors) will buy the remaining tickets and then give the tickets away to charity. This allows them to get their commercials on TV and get good press (as well as a nice tax write off) in the process

Basically its a win-win situation for them. They just like waiting until the last possible minute so they can minimize costs

I never understood why the Cardinals didnt donate the empty seats to things like the Boys & Girls club when they were at SDS. They would of got great press, added many new young fans, been on local TV to improve fan base, and still sold a few more hot dogs to the kids.

Pretty sure that's been covered here before. NFL rules prohibit teams from donating unsold seats and there are also very strict limits on the quantity of complimentary seats each team can distribute.

Correct. Thats why sponsors typically step up in their place. Its good for all involved.

that may be so, but it was a missed chance by the NFL too if thats the case.

just a thought but a few years of tickets to schools or 'quid for kids' type deals they do over here might have meant a few more thousand wildcad tickets shifted by now.

hwo are the sales going now by the way. Gret job by that pool firm by the way. Good press all round. and if you have a pool your quids in as you get more that what you spend in tickets value.

I'm fine with it not being sold out.

Keep in mind the posters here that live in AZ are hard core great fans and they will 99% of you at least attend the game. Anyone outside AZ will egt it on TV. So I am fine with the fairweathers not being able to see it.

I only feel bad for the hard core on this board that are unable to afford it. :(

i think thats taken from NFL.com as thats what they quote too. They have Vikings down to 8000 in the same story.
I think they said 2000 last night on the 10 o clock news. They said if they can get 2000 sold today they'll make it. Hope they make it.

My two cents..I used to have five cents..but? I can feel for fans who have gone to all, some games over the years. Especially the folks that sat through all the seasons at ASU. Like others I have had some hard times this past year 3/4 of my retirment account. I'm not complaining as many more have worse problems then I. I had too eliminate 2 seats for the playoofs due to cost. That includes not taking my 17 year old grandson, which really hurt.

I can't believe that thier isn't 2K of fans that can't buy in this whole town and just complain because they wont see it free. What makes that even worse is that they all blame the team! My brother who can't afford tickets will not see his favorite team in action. Not the end of the world, but makes me feel bad.

The Cards should pony up and buy them themselves at 2:28 if they are not sold out. If they want the fanbase they need to be responsible and make sure this game is seen by all. If they allow this game to be blacked out SHAME on them, they need to make it happen for the fans as well as themselves!

I'm greedy...I like to go home and watch the broadcast version from the DVR as well, catch things from a different angle.

And I for sure would like to have the first AZ home playoff game/win on DVD, so burning that out from the DVR would be on the agenda.

Cardshark, could the Cardinals, or or one of the Bidwills, make a contribution to KW's Make a Wish Foundation, and that charity buy the tickets and distribute them?

I found it interesting that you said you like the broadcast version better. I love both...there are things in the stadium you just don't see on TV, and yet I love the multiple angles/replays you get on TV that you don't get at the game.

Both together is the ideal way to watch football, IMO. Hell, I even watched the Bears MNF immediately when I got home from the stadium. Wanted to crawl into my own stomach and die, but sure as hell, we lost exactly the same way on the broadcast as we did live.
