I really feel for Ken Whisenhunt. He had to use up a good offensive gimmick that I’m certain he wanted to save for the Steelers. Now he must face them with an even further depleted line and one of his biggest weapons likely on the bench. Despite naming Leinart as the starter, don’t be surprised if Warner takes the first series. The Cards need to get the Steelers’ defense back on their heels and they also need to open up the field, so Edge can have some impact. I expect even if Whisenhunt does this and it works, he will return to Leinart with the second series.

Despite the loss of Boldin, the weakness of Johnson and no weapon at tight end, the Cards will have to beat Pittsburgh through the air if they are to compete. Look for them to throw often to players coming out of the backfield. It's also time for Fitzgerald to assert himself.

On defense they must find a way to both limit the run and get pressure on Roethlisberger. Like Whisenhunt, Tomlin is an outstanding first year coach. His team won’t beat itself, as the Seahawks did. I think the Cards will be hard pressed to win this game. If they play well and lose, try to be encouraged. The remainder of their schedule does not include another opponent as tough as this one. So even if the Cards fall to a record of 1-3, they aren’t out of the hunt. They will have little margin for error, but they do have a legitimate chance. The decline of Seattle, St. Louis, Atlanta and New Orleans has left the Cards with the most favorable schedule in the league. If the injuries don’t get any worse, the Cards could still finish 9-7.

I agree Harry. I thought at the beginning of the season that a 1-3 start would be devastating. Now I'm not so sure thats the case. However, 2-2 would be a huge catalyst and set the stage for the rest of the season.

i agree - I expect a loss tomorrow, but it's not the end of the world as long as we take care of business against the Rams the following week. That game will decide our season for us, whether or not it's a "rebuilding" year or a competitive year with a shot at a wild card.

Yep.

Agreed.

Too True.

Now, I want to win at home.

I want my team to beat the "best" projected team we will face.

I want to wash our Nest clean of last year's Bears melt-down against the "crowned" champions of the league and I want to use Steeler Fan's tears to do it.

Calling it right here - the surprise tomorrow will be our defense. I originally expected the O to carry us when I saw the schedule however I think we give big Ben fits tomorrow and ultimately that's the result of our win.

I'll come back late tomorrrow and gloat about my prediction:beer:

Heres something to ponder. Seattle is at San Fran. Somebody has to lose. Next week Seahawks go to Pittsburgh and the 49ers are hosting the Ravens.

Theres a great chance that one of those teams will lose both games.

Man if somehow we could pull off a shocker tomorrow and win in St Louis next week. We would be 3-2 and I'll bet tied for first place.

Man, I just started thinking about that 49ers game again.....

jeez, that loss really sucked.

If we can beat Pitt tomorrow though, I guess it's evened out.

I just do not believe the Steelers without Ward are any better than the Ravens. I cannot name their #2 WR without looking at the Roster. We know their D is solid and Parker is solid at RB. I certainly think we will be able to win this games if we eliminate mistakes.

Yes but it would sure be nice heading into this game 2-2. I could take a loss today alot easier.

Starting off 1-3 is difficult regardless of what your remaining schedule is.
