Son of late Wizards coach Flip Saunders earns dramatic win in NBA coaching debut originally appeared on nbcsportswashington.com It was awfully dusty in Oklahoma City Tuesday night as Ryan Saunders, son of the late Flip Saunders, earned his first victory as interim coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. His team celebrated in the locker room by popping (water) bottles over the interim coach's head in celebration. The 32-year-old was an assistant coach for the Wizards from 2009 to 2014, including two seasons (2009-2011) where he served under his father before Randy Wittman's tenure.
