Sorry if this has been posted. Clippers to match offer sheet For Q?

I would have assumed that this would be posted by now, but I cant seem to find it anywhere.

Anyways, I was watching ESPNews last night and they very briefly mentioned that the clippers have matched the offer sheet for Q. Am I the only one who noticed this?

Anyone have some info?

They can't match it yet, because it can't even be offered by the Suns until July 14.

It's possible that the Clippers have already said they will match it when the time comes, but I haven't heard that.

thats what I meant. They said that they were going to match it.

I cant seem to find ANYTHING about this, so hopefully ESPN is just wrong.

We have assumed that the Clippers will wait the full 14 days before officially matching. It would be surprising if they did it early, but not out of the question.

One possible scenerio would be if the Suns offered to trade a second round pick for Ely on the condidtion that the Clippers match immediately (because it would be the only way the Suns would have the cap space). I'm not sure this deal makes sense, but otherwise the Clips have no reason to do anything for a while.

Saw it again earlier, and so have others from a different board. It looks like the clippers will match the Q offer.
