Boston College is close to finalizing an agreement to hire Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as its next football coach, sources told Yahoo Sports. Hafley, 40, revived Ohio State's defense in his first season in Columbus, as the Buckeyes finished No. 2 nationally in total defense a year after they finished No. 72. Hafley, 40, was a finalist for the Broyles Award for the nation's top assistant coach this season.
