St. Augustine’s Vested Metals International is hosting the Southeast Coil Classic on April 28 at Marsh Creek Country Club at noon.
The 18-hole, four-person scramble features the chance to win a car with a hole-in-one, a longest drive contest and complimentary on-course snacks and beverages. A post event reception with live music and a cigar roller will be held at 5 p.m.
The specialty metals and steel supplier based in St. Augustine will celebrate the legacy of Vested Metals member John Mark Leach in commemoration of his passion for helping others. Leach spent more than three decades at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. After retirement, he joined Vested Metals International to work with like-minded entrepreneurial colleagues.

Founder Viv Helwig said that the company’s first tournament in 2023 raised more than $60,000.
“Last year we raised $70,000 with over 200 supporters,” he said in a news release. “Our company is passionate about service, with the goal of achieving a $1 million donation milestone by 2033.”
Touting core values of “People are Forever,” 100% of the event proceeds will benefit United Way of St. Johns County, Adaptive Superstars, Flagler College, Safe Families for Children, K9s For Warriors, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Boys and Girls Clubs.
