Justin Lin Circling 'Space Jam' Sequel Starring LeBron James (Exclusive)

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/space-jam-sequel-finds-director-834978

Justin Lin, Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello are ready to shoot some intergalactic hoops with LeBron James.

The Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Beyond helmer is co-writing, with Dodge and Botello, Warner Bros.' Space Jam 2. Lin is also looking to direct and produce via his Perfect Storm Entertainment, and sources say he will be thoroughly involved in the creative development of the project.

The WME-repped Cleveland Cavaliers forward, who recently appeared in Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck, will star in the sequel. Rumors of a follow-up to the live action/animated 1996 hit have been circulating for years but picked up steam in July when James and his company SpringHill Entertainment signed a deal with Warner Bros.

The first film, which earned $230.4 million worldwide, featured Michael Jordan teaming up with a collection of Looney Tunes characters to play a game of basketball against aliens threatening their freedom.

----------------------------

I can see it now: LeBron is playing for the Looney Tunes' team up until it looks like the aliens will win. Then he "takes his talents" to outer space to play with the aliens. :D

just bullcrap...

this is just a media ploy so there is actually a REASON to compare LaBron to Jordan...

because we all know there is not one on the court.

apparently hollywood thinks lebron hype comes anywhere near jordan hype.

PS: where the hell did looney toons go? Do we really have to use basketball just to get looney toons on our screens?

This movie was nothing great, but also isn't as bad it's being made out to be. It's exactly what I thought it would be.

How did they not get Rihanna to do the remake of the Space Jam song? I mean, that’s a layup.

Boys enjoyed it. Wasn’t terrible. I liked looking through the audience for Warner bros characters.

My daughter absolutely loved it! I didn't expect much, but I enjoyed it. Thought LeBron was pretty cool for taking a bunch of hits, lol.

No opinion on the movie, but stoked that we found and bought a Marvin the Martian figure at a tiny Target in Provo, Utah yesterday.

I'm gonna watch this. Why not, I liked the first one when I was a kid anyways.

I think all of us like the first one when we were all kids.
