Michigan State junior forward Karsen Dorwart is heading to the NHL.

Dorwart officially signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. Dorwart was expected to forego his final year of eligibility once the season concluded, and that became official on Saturday.

Dorwart wrapped up his three year career at Michigan State with 38 career goals and 92 points. He played in 111 (of a possible 113) games for the Spartans over the three seasons. This season in particular, he had 13 goals and 18 assists for the Spartans.

Michigan State's season came to an erupt ending on Thursday when the Spartans were upset by Cornell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans won both the Big Ten regular season and tournament championships for a second straight year, but once again failed to reach the Frozen Four.
