Another year of New York Mets spring training baseball has come and gone on the Treasure Coast.

But that’s not before a record number of people made their way to Clover Park.

The Mets drew 106,027 fans through 16 Grapefruit League games played in this season, most in a single season through the ballpark’s 37-year history. That figure marked an 18-percent increase from the previous year.

Eight of the team’s home games were sellouts.

Additionally, the team ended the spring with a bang. In the Mets’ spring finale on Monday against the New York Yankees, 8,088 fans packed into the facility to mark the second-largest crowd to watch a baseball game in PSL.

That game fell just short of the stadium’s single-game attendance record. In 2015, a record crowd of 8,205 watched the Yankees and Mets face off.

Monday’s matchup between the rivals from the Big Apple marked the first time Juan Soto, the Mets’ prized free agent signee, played against the team he helped reach the World Series. The outfielder signed the largest contract in sports history during the offseason at a 15-year, $765 million.

Final Spring Training game at Clover Park as the New York Mets take on their crosstown rival New York Yankees. As expected, a pretty nice crowd.

And as expected, with plenty of Yankee fans in the building, a pretty mixed reaction for former Yankee Juan Soto, who grounds out. pic.twitter.com/915ctVoSqY

With Yankees fans flooding the stadium, Soto received a loud mixture of boos and cheers during his two plate appearances.

Two days prior against the Washington Nationals, 7,800 fans made their way into Clover Park, good for third-most all-time.
