On the radio this morning, Bickley reported that the Spurs announcer reported that just prior to the incident Amare took off his warmup pants. He said it looked like Amare was getting ready to check in to him.

If I am the Suns, I am picking up the phone and asking the league to call the Spurs announcer. Not sure if it will have any impact but I am playing every single card I can right now.

That Dude is actually really cool. He is level headed. Too bad he cant influence the pending decision.

I don't see why the league wouldn't ask him what he had seen though.

The rule is clear cut, the interpretation as it relates to the fact situation is not.

If it is illegal to step onto the court when a teammate is knocked down, then Duncan gets suspended, because he does not know for sure there won't be an altercation.

If it is illegal to go on court before an altercation, then it requires the player to know there is going to be an altercation and seeing a player knocked down would mean there "might" be an altercation..

If it is illegal to leave the bench area, then any player checking in can be suspended for not knowing there is going to be an altercation.

Enforcing poorly written rules with zero tollerance is just stupid.
