Trying to be civil over there...I do know we probably banned some guys maybe that weren't really trolls, so I'll give them that.

But man...how can people not see how pissed that whole thing would make us and at least sympathize with us a bit.

I tried to be nice, but forget it...they aren't worth it.


I'm so shocked the amount of swearing and stuff that goes on...that is what degrades a messageboard into a bunch of childish posts.

See, that's why I don't regularly join other teams message boards. Especially teams that are rivals or teams I hate. I'd much rather stick to my own kind.(LOL! That sounds racist) Nothing good can come out of mingling with punk a**ed eagles fans or in you guys case Spurs/Lakers/Mavs fans. It's bound to lead to something.

I really thought what you had to say was legite because you guys got screwed on a rule that Stern had to enforce and I was completely shocked that you guys didnt end up with ATL' s pick. I really thought you were gonna get some good talent, at a relatively cheap price, thus offsetting the loss of Marion, but things didnt work out your way.

Could have been worse. Ask the Celts who lost out again.
At least you guys will still be one of the top teams in the NBA next year and could end with a very good Atlanta pick.

The thing about a board like ours is, you are going to have to take that kind of stuff with the good posters...

Sports are about rivalries and controversy... we pretty much self regulate when it comes to trolls...

I'm a reasonable Spurs fan... I'm going to take bs from people on this board... don't really care... I take BS from Spurs fans on Spurstalk...

Communities that live with a ton of heavy handed moderation tend to be pretty homeristic... Now... the Admins over there may not agree with ANYTHING you say but for the most part are going to let you say it...

You can call Manu "Flopobili" over there and you won't get banned...

There are very few forums on the web where you can come in as a fan of another team and be a part of a community... That place is one of them...

I absolutely disagree. The ability to "say anything you want" with little moderation feeds the "troll attitude."

Maybe we do.

But your forum also allows a lot of swearing and total trashing of other people, which I think promotes less than quality posting. We have kids who read this place so we have to strive to keep it clean...so while we may seem to have thin skin, we have to try hard to keep it clean and appropriate as much as humanly possible.

First off there is a difference between heavy handed moderation and moderation that keeps the peace. I have never seen anybody banned here for having a different opinion. Moderation and being homeristic do not go hand in hand. When your site allows others to take personal shots, it speaks more to the class of the board and the mods that run it.

Then again, I would expect nothing less from most of the Spurs fans that have been trying to justify Cheap shot Bob and trying to pretend that their playoff run doesn't have a big * next to it.

The atmosphere over there is the reason we have 500 people viewing a lot of the time... and multiple pages of posts a day in the offseason...

I know it will seem as a poke at SA, but that is not my intent, but I really think the amount of visitors a day and during the offseason is because there isn't much else going on in SA's sports world. The Spurs being the only show in town ; what else are you supposed to talk about?

i spent a good amount of time over there and will continue to go back to spurstalk. There are a lot of good posters over there but far too many childish ones. It is what it is and this board is what it is. Nobody is forced to go there and they aren't forced to come here.

Well... Most SA fans are Cowboys and Astros fans... always have been...


I personally can't stand football or baseball... so I really don't mind living in a one sport town...


Of course... most of the people that live in Phoenix are probably Lakers/Dodgers fans... since they moved from California at age 60
