I feel the key to this series is going to the play of Amare and Barbosa off the bench. I think the Suns win this series in 6 games maybe 5. Just not sure who Nash will have to defend. (Parker, Hill or Manu)

dude, if Barbs is a key to the series, the series is already over. I HATE to say this, but I think it's gonna be Spurs in 6. With a healthy, up to the speed Robin, I think we could finally take them, but he's not and won't be.

But just like the last two series we played with them, I think the Suns chances depend on one thing and one thing... Game 1. We lose that, we're cooked. We win and take our first every series lead against this team and we've got a chance to win this sucker in 7. That being said, I'll believe it when I see it. Thus, Spurs in 6.

Wow... would love to see a Suns win in 5. Just don't see how that can happen. I actually think the odds are better that the Spurs win in 5 versus the Suns.
For us to pull this off, we are going to need incredible shooting performances - again, from J-Rich, Hill and Dudley. Amare will have to find a way to be a consistent offensive threat. Nash is hurt. He simply can't play a ton of minutes and be effective, which means Dragic is going to have to step up and play out of his mind. Score, dish and NO turnovers...
Will Frye be able to rise up and score on a consistent basis?

The Spurs can still play defense. The question will be, can we? We did a great job on defense against the Blazers. But c'mon, there is quite a leap in talent between the Blazers and the Spurs. George freaken Hill??? Who will stop him?
If J-Rich can consistently score 20 or more, and if the Suns can consistently get to 105 or more points, I REALLY like our chances... But, if the Spurs are able to slow the game down and keep scoring below 100, this could get ugly, fast...

ugh that sucks about lopez sounded like he was getting :(, but I think we can still beat the spurs without lopez that is if Richardson, and Amare keep playing like they are. Also Nash has to have a lot better series then he did against the blazers. Can't wait till monday!!!!! GO SUNS

Actually, I'm quite positive that one of Frye, Dudley, LB, and Grant will go off offensively in any game in this series. Amare will dominate consistently and JRich, Nash and Dragic will be playing up to their levels in most games. So, it's a question whether Nash could hold it against Hill/Parker defensively to some extent. I'll re-iterate to the n-th time that we finally give Nash the Stockton treatment: not too much playing time (around 30 min optimal), not too much dribbling, but enough energy to give an effort on defense every minute he is on the court. Unlike earlier, we have enough offensive options to do that now. ;)

Looks like many of the so-called "experts" are predicting Spurs to win this series. Despite the Suns being the higher seed and having home-court, 8 of 10 ESPN "experts" think the Spurs will win as do 2 of 3 Yahoo's. Curiously, 4 of 5 CBS writers picked the Suns. It seems that the Suns may be the underdog in this series. What is the official line for the series?

not sure about the series line, but I know we're favored by 4.5 in Game 1... which kind of surprises me. I think we're Vegas favorites and that's about it. Haven't seen the CBS picks, but all the other ones I have have us losing in 6 or 7.

I believe the Suns will finally take down their playoff nemisis. The Spurs have taken the Suns out three times in the past, but the fourth time is the charm. While I was impressed that the Spurs took out Dallas in round 1, I don't think that will continue. The Suns cruised against the Spurs in the regular season and I see a high scoring series as Phoenix will dictate the offense. The Spurs big three will have to show up after George Hill playing saving grace against Dallas.

Just watch it, Yuma. You're not going to stop this Suns team from winning.

The story line for me is that nobody other than the big 3 from Spurs went off on us like earlier when either Mason, Blair, Dice or Bonner did. This means in particular our weakest link on defense has improved a lot by giving effort to rotate etc. Pop certainly tried out his rarely used players like Mason and Bogans to explore this chance but we stood firm. We keep it up, we will win this series whether Nash stays shooting this hot or not.

In a van...down by the river.
I think Pops goes for a starting lineup of:
Parker
Ginobli
Jefferson
TD
Dice

They'll try to get off to a very fast start(being that its a road game)and put it on our bench to initially play catch-up. I also think they'll try to take JRich out of the offense with traps etc.... I expect S.A. to get much more aggressive on the offensive boards as well......

Conversely i think Gentry just needs to find some more scoring from his bench and try to keep JRich/Amare heavily involved offensively.

Defensively its tough,Parker is going to hurt us. I only pray that TD doesn't get it going. I think if there was one weapon i'd choose to focus on slowing down its Ginobli. The SUNS need to get more physical with him all over the court. The fouls are going to be called regardless , might as well make them count. I mean, he's got a giant target er...bandage on his beak......hit the man.

No kidding, I turned the game on and we were up by 14 points!! I was so freaking stoked. Then as I watched the lead evaporated. My wife was watching and she told me to turn it off before I cause the Suns to lose. So I turned it off for about 20 minutes or more. I turned it back on when I saw them exchanging free throws and basically had it wrapped up! Again, I am torn from watching again! LOL!

Hey, if the Los Suns jerseys get us "any" sympathy from the refs, I am all for us wearing them tonight! LOL!

Well so much for Barbosa being a key. If we can win one of these next two we should be able to close it out at home!
