While spring football has started around the country, there are some players who have already decided to enter the transfer portal and a recent entrant could very well could end up at Notre Dame.

Stanford edge David Bailey had an Irish offer while in high school, but opted to stay closer to home. After three years, he has decided to test the portal waters, and the Irish could certainly could get involved in his second recruitment.

As On3’s Mike Singer pointed out, head coach Marcus Freeman “loved David Bailey as a recruit,” and it would make sense to see if the interest between the two parties was mutual. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 240-pounder has seen his sack totals rise from 2.5 to 5 to 7 this past fall, with one of them coming against the Irish.

With Rylie Mills moving on, Jordan Botelho and Boubacar Traore both coming off injuries, adding another pass rusher via the transfer portal wouldn’t be a bad idea for Notre Dame.
