The Dallas Stars hit the road to play out the remaining two games of their regular season, with a first leg of their trip in the Motor City. In their last meeting in Dallas, the Stars took home a 4-1 victory. The Stars will aim to produce a similar outcome amidst their five-game losing streak on the eve of another playoff appearance.
The Dallas Stars will look to get the most out of their offense as they look to get going back to their form that propelled them as the third-highest scoring team in the NHL this season (272). The Stars have not fared well lately against non playoff teams, as three of their five losses have been to teams that will not be competing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Stars will have Jake Oettinger back in net for them, as the veteran net minder sat out during the Stars previous loss to the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday. The goaltender is aiming for his 37th win of the season, a career-high mark he hasn't reached since the 2022-23. Another milestone on the table will be for Jaimie Benn who has been sitting on 399 career goals since March 8th. Benn will look to become only the second player in franchise history to score 400 goals, to join all-time leader Mike Modano.
Tonight's game is set for a 8pm CDT puck drop, and can be viewed on NHLN, FDSNDETX, and Victory+.
