Numerous tweets had Karlsson being dealt to Tampa Bay for Lightning defenseman Daniel Girardi. Karlsson, the 28-year-old two-time Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's top defenseman, is the premier defenseman of this era. He has those two Norris wins, but he's also finished 2nd twice. In 627 games he has 518 points. Somehow at 28 years old Karlsson is already tied for 56th in defenseman points all time. He would move into the top 40 all time with another normal Karlsson season in 2019.
