IndyStar track and field athlete of the week, presented by YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, is back after an exciting week of conference meets and top times.
Congratulations to Cathedral's Devaughn Slaughter for winning last week's poll. He earned the vote after winning the 60m at the Whiteland HSR Qualifier #2 in 7.04 and helping Cathedral to a third-place finish in the 4x200 at another meet.
This poll will celebrate the best of Central Indiana track and field throughout the 2025 season. It will feature four girls nominees and four boys nominees each week. Nominations can be sent to [email protected].
Winners of IndyStar athlete of week polls will be invited to and honored at the Indiana High School Sports Awards, presented by the Indiana Pacers/Fever, on April 27 at Butler's Clowes Hall.
The poll will be open until noon Friday. Cast your vote in the poll at the bottom of the article or click here to vote.
Elizabeth Butler, Hamilton Southeastern: Butler dominated the 3200 at the HCC Indoor Invitational last Wednesday, winning in 10:45.05 — more than 40 seconds better than the next competitor. The Purdue signee finished fourth in the event at the 2024 outdoor state meet and looks poised for a strong performance at this weekend's Hoosier State Relays.
Emmerson Williams, North Central: Williams had a strong performance at the Indoor MIC Championships, winning the 60m in 7.69 and placing third in the long jump (17'6"). She also helped the Panthers to a win in the 4x200 at the Red Devil Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday, where they posted the state's top time (1:42.42).
Maddison Judge, Greenwood: Judge won the high jump at Mid-State Indoor last Tuesday with a mark of 5'4" — three inches better than the next competitor. It was a personal best for the freshman and her first win this indoor season.
Amiah Hamilton, Brownsburg: Hamilton set Brownsburg's school record and the HCC meet record in the long jump with an 18'3" mark last Wednesday, helping the Bulldogs to the girls indoor title. The junior finished 14th at the 2024 outdoor state meet with a mark of 17'1.75" and has steadily improved this indoor season.
Kaleb Rasheed, Avon: Rasheed won the HCC shot put title in 56'3", going 1-2 with teammate Austin Grays and helping the Orioles to their first HCC indoor title since 2019. The junior, who qualified for outdoor state as a discus thrower in 2024, has won every shot put event he's competed in this indoor season.
Damario Moore, Lawrence North: Moore dominated at the Indoor MIC Championships, winning the 60m in 6.74 — a tenth of a second ahead of the runner-up — and helping the Wildcats to a win in the 4x200, along with a third-place long jump finish. The senior has swept the 60 across all of his indoor meets this season.
John Libs, Noblesville: Libs handily won the 3200m HCC indoor title in 9:17.48 — seven seconds ahead of the next competitor. The junior has made strides after finishing last indoor season with a 3200 time of 9:36.40 at the Hoosier State Relays, running more than 25 seconds faster in his two 3200 races of 2025.
Rylan Hainje, Franklin Central: Hainje continues to make his mark on the record books, breaking his own state record in the indoor 60m hurdles at the HCC indoor meet in 7.76. The time ranks in the top 10 nationally and makes him a strong favorite in the event come this weekend's Hoosier State Relays.
