Must win Sunday? Not really.

However, this IS a statement game. Somewhere along the line we have to beat a good team.

We’ve lost to every team with a winning record except for the Chargers. We have 2 wins on last second fg’s. We beat the hapless Jets, Bears and at the time a depleted 49er and Rams team.

So how we can say we are for real? By beating a very good team.

A loss Sunday makes the dream of winning the division or making the playoffs a tougher road. The Seahawks have improved. The Rams are a better team than the one we played earlier. The 49ers are going to be a much healthier team than they are now.

A loss Sunday relegates us to JAT… Just Another Team. We need to prove we are players. It’s playoff time right now.

I don’t think we would be “for real” even if we win the division.

Only teams in the NFC that will be labeled that are Detroit & Philly.
Real meaning a Legitimate team to contend for a playoff spot.
A loss throws us into the blender of JAT. With tie breakers against teams like the Packers, Washington and at the moment Seattle it almost makes it mandatory to win the division to make the playoffs.

When we went to the Super Bowl our division sucked. And every good team we played beat the hell out of us. Minnesota blew us out at home 35-14 and then NE walloped us 41-7. We won our last regular season game after those two debacles. Then, we got hot at the right time

It would be exciting to win Sunday, but it's still too early to get too high or too low no matter what happens.

Sooner or later we have to beat a winning opponent.

We're still very likely to win the division even with a loss, however a win here would make us an actual contender (to get to the second round of the playoffs). It would be by far the best win of the season. I don't believe this team is at that level yet.

With Murray, the best we’ve ever done was being unable to clinch the playoffs without help from other teams. Then once we backed into the playoffs we put up our worst playoff performance ever. Hopefully we do anything but that this season.

I was referring to the Chargers.
I mentioned the Chargers in the original post. But they were in a bit of a flux when we played them.
I really don’t feel good about Sunday. Any team that is good at stopping the run puts us in a bad situation. I believe the Vikings are #1 against the run.
I can see a 31-13 beat down.

Well Petzing needs to dial up a good passing game then, something he's been rather inconsistent about this season.

Darnold is a gunslinger at heart... keep it close, pressure him, and he will give us opportunities for turnovers.
Score on those and we're golden
The problem is that we give a lot of time for the opposing QB to get into his groove

Last game we had zero pressure on Geno and he could have made a sandwich many times

We have to find some way to get pressure so the QB has to make quick decisions and that's when they make mistakes

Doesn't the team have someone on the injured list that's supposed to like, help with this, or maybe be on the field, like we've been told like forever.
