The Black and Gold faithful have been up in arms over the idea of four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers making his way to the Steel City. However, fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers may still have a reason to hold onto hope—as, according to insider Jeremy Fowler, the door isn't completely shut on a reunion with Russell Wilson.
Fowler joined ESPN's SportsCenter to shed some light on where Rodgers and Wilson could still end up in 2025, and had this to say regarding 'Mr. Unlimited':
“He’s [Wilson] still got a few [options], not totally off Pittsburgh’s list. Still in the mix with the Giants. He’s looked at the Giants as a viable option for a while now, and despite that Winston signing, my sense is the Giants have looked at signing two free agent quarterbacks and then they can still draft one.”
Fowler would also go on to state that the Browns are in play for the former six-time Pro Bowl QB—which would definitely be a disastrous scenario for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mike Tomlin is making his Rodgers-sized bed while playing the waiting game with the 41-year-old signal caller, and while he will be forced to lay in it, the idea of Wilson still being floated around as a possibility gives the Pittsburgh Steelers some leverage this offseason.
