Steelers live in QB limbo with Shedeur Sanders coming to town

Pat McAfee's live event the Big Night AHT came and went with no announcement from quarterback Aaron Rodgers as to his future with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now the Steelers are just two weeks out from the 2025 NFL draft, still are unsure if Rodgers would rather retire than play in Pittsburgh and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is in for a predraft visit.

This is not at all the situation we expected the Steelers to be in at the end of the season. Pittsburgh had Justin Fields and Russell Wilson both sitting as free agents and the team seemed completely disinterested in re-signing either one. Now both have moved on to greener pastures and the Steelers current QB1 is Mason Rudolph.

This brings us back to Sanders. And Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart as well. We've always maintained if the Steelers have Rodgers under contract prior to the 2025 NFL draft, they would not use a first-round pick on a quarterback. With time running out, Sanders or Dart in the first might be inevitable.
