With the 2025 NFL Draft just 10 days away, it's no secret that the Aaron Rodgers dilemma has left the Pittsburgh Steelers with a pressing need at the quarterback position — but that doesn’t mean the team should repeat the same mistake it made with Kenny Pickett in 2022.

CBS Sports’ Jared Dubin predicted the Steelers will select Ole Miss QB prospect Jaxson Dart with the 21st overall pick in a recent mock draft, and supported the selection with the following argument:

“The Steelers once again look to the quarterback position in the mid-to-late first round. It didn't work out with Kenny Pickett, but Dart has better physical traits and therefore might have higher upside.”

The key word here is that Dart "might" have higher upside — and that’s exactly why the Pickett experiment failed in Pittsburgh. Instead of selecting a player who may be better than Kenny 'Two Gloves,' why not invest in solving the defensive line issues currently surrounding the Steelers?

Or better yet, if the plan is to address defensive tackle in the later rounds, why not use that premium draft pick to find George Pickens’ replacement — as most would agree his future in the Steel City beyond 2025 is a long shot at best.
