One of the biggest roadblocks for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2025 NFL draft is how to navigate their top draft needs without a second-round pick. In our latest mock draft update, we traded back not only once but twice and moved completely out of the first round and still got a player who would be a great pick at No. 21.

The first trade was with the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers sent the No. 21 overall pick in exchange for the No. 33 and No. 67 overall pick. Then, we traded back again, sending the Green Bay Packers the No. 156 overall pick in exchange for the No. 159 overall pick and the No. 250 overall pick.

Second round - DT Derrick Harmon - Oregon

Third round - QB Jalen Milroe - Alabama

Third round - DT Jordan Phillips - Maryland

Fourth round - RB Jaydon Blue - Texas

Fifth round - C Seth McLaughlin - Ohio State

Sixth round - WR Dont'e Thornton Jr. - Tennessee

Seventh round - S R.J. Mickens - Clemson

Seventh round - OT Trey Wedig - Indiana

The more we've looked at the Steelers, the more we are convinced the Steelers will draft more than one defensive lineman. Harmon can replace Ogunjobi and Phillips can be that rotational guy who can really stuff the run. Trading completely out of the round and still getting Harmon is great value.

We also feel like the Steelers are going to go hard on offense and we show that with a quarterback, running back, wide receiver and two offensive linemen. The Steelers have also been scouting safeties so we sneak in Mickens late to bolster depth in the secondary. This was in place of a cornerback so we are counting on the new additions to be enough.
